چکیده

Purpose: To synthesize niobium silicate particles (SiNb) and incorporate into resin-based luting agents. Methods: SiNb were synthesized characterized by x-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy, particle size, specific surface area. Luting agents formulated with 50 wt% BisGMA, 30 TEGDMA 20 UDMA. BAPO was used as a photoinitiator in 1mol%. The incorporated the at concentrations of (SiNb50%) or 65% (SiNb65%). Barium glass same controls (SiBa50% SiBa65%). Refractive index, degree conversion (DC), polymerization kinetics, softening solvent, radiopacity, film thickness, color stability, flexural strength (FS) micro shear bond (µSBS) evaluated. Results: successfully an adequate structure to be applied inorganic fillers. groups had higher DC, lower %ΔKHN, greater thickness radiopacity than SiBa groups. Color stability for SiNb50% SiNb65% after six months storage, demonstrated ΔE00. ΔWID values FS results decreased over time, found SiNb. In µSBS, 24 h (45.22 MPa) (36.83 MPa), statistically differences from Conclusions: using sol-gel method, their incorporation concentration up improved physicomechanical characteristics these

Use of zinc phosphate cement as a luting agent for Denzir™ copings: an in vitro study

BACKGROUND: The clinical success rate with zinc phosphate cemented Procera crowns is high. The objective with this study was to determine whether CADCAM processed and zinc phosphate cemented Denzir copings would perform as well as zinc phosphate cemented Procera copings when tested in vitro in tension. METHODS: Twelve Procera copings and twenty-four Denzir copings were made. After the copings h...

Comparative analysis for selection of resin luting cements based on filler content: an in vitro study.

CONTEXT Resin luting of all-ceramic restorations results in increased performance; however, the strengthening mechanism and the role of the mechanical properties of the resin are not fully understood. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of filler content on the flexural properties of resin luting agents and thereby selecting an appropriate resin luting cement. MATE...

Using a Novel Fly Ash Based Calcium Silicate as a Potential Paper Filler

A novel calcium silicate filler can be made from fly ash. This new filler, known as fly ash based calcium silicate (FACS), has a highly porous surface structure, high brightness (91% ISO), low bulk density (0.31 g/cm 3 ), and high specific surface area (121 m 2 /g). In this paper, its potential application as a paper filler was studied and its effect on drainage, retention, and paper properties...

Diametral tensile strength and film thickness of an experimental dental luting agent derived from castor oil

UNLABELLED The need to develop new dental luting agents in order to improve the success of treatments has greatly motivated research. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the diametral tensile strength (DTS) and film thickness (FT) of an experimental dental luting agent derived from castor oil (COP) with or without addition of different quantities of filler (calcium carbonate - CaC...

Radioiodine as a possible triggering agent for pemphigus foliaceus

Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) is an autoimmune blistering disease presenting in endemic and sporadic forms. The typical presentation is recurrent shallow erosions in a seborrheic distribution. PF has also been found in association with autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune thyroid disease (e.g. toxic nodular goiter and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis). In some patients, PF appears to be triggered by radioi...
